Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania

Hello Miss England’s first graders,

Tidy Teddy had a great business trip with me to Pennsylvania.  Tidy saw lots of interesting things.  First, he had some work to do, so he visited Witmer Masonry Company in Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania.  Next, he visited a Quaker or Mennonite farm (he can’t remember which one it was) and saw a historic barn there.  He discovered a special breed of cow that comes all the way from Europe.  Tidy was a little nervous about getting too close to the cow because he was so big.  Tidy was very tired and hungry so he wanted a snack.  He really wanted to some chocolate, so his last destination was Hershey, Pennsylvania to the Hershey Chocolate Factory.  He saw some really big Hershey Kisses there and so many chocolatey treats that he didn’t know what to do.  He got a special Hershey Kiss from the factory and brought it back to show his first grade friends.
Thanks for letting Tidy come with me on my trip!

Dear Ms. England’s Class,

Tidy Teddy recently came to visit me again in New Hampshire! If you remember, last time, it was snowing, but this time it was really warm. TT got to drive the tractor, which we use to mow our fields and move rocks. TT also got to spend time cleaning the leaves out of our garden with my father.

I hope TT comes back to visit again soon!

Las Vegas, Nevada

Dear 1st graders,

Tidy Teddy took a quick trip to Las Vegas, Nevada!!!!  Las Vegas is in the Mojave Desert and it its climate is very hot.  The city enjoys abundant sunshine year-round and has an average of about 300 sunny days per year, with very little rainfall. Las Vegas is the most populous city in Nevada and is called the “Entertainment Capital of the World” for the number of casino resorts and associated entertainment.  It is famous for its gambling, shopping, and fine dining. There are hotels in the city that look like places all over the world.  So in one day, Teddy got to visit Italy, New York, Egypt, and France! He had a great time!

Dear Miss England’s class,

Tidy Teddy went to Marietta, OH and is pictured at the confluence of the Ohio River and the Muskingum River.  A confluence is the meeting of two or more bodies of water.  It was a sunny day in Ohio. Marietta is located in southeastern Ohio.  Founded in 1788, Marietta is the oldest city in Ohio. I work at Marietta College in the Office of Student Life.

Thanks for letting him visit!

Dear Ms. England’s Class,

Hello from Oxford, Ohio!  I had so much fun on my visit with Katie, Ms. England’s sister.  She is a senior in college at Miami University.  She works very hard in school, but she also likes to relax and have fun playing outside, too. We spent the day playing at some of Katie’s favorite places near her apartment.  We played volleyball in the sand, walked around a beautiful pond, and then I climbed trees.  It was wonderful climbing up so high and I wasn’t afraid one bit!  Katie clapped every time I made it to the top of the tree.

I am so happy I was able to meet Katie and visit with her in Ohio.  She invited me to come back when she graduates college in May.  I can’t wait!!

Love,

Tidy Teddy
